Zhuhan JIN

PhD Researcher, Adaptive Mobility, Land-use and Infrastructure (AMIL)

Zhuhan joined the Adaptive Mobility, Land-use, and Infrastructure (AMIL) Team at the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in February 2023 as a visiting PhD researcher. The AMIL research program investigates the adaptive planning of transport infrastructure under uncertainty using AI-based technologies. This program is primarily funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF) in Singapore and supported by partners from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and relevant state departments.

Zhuhan is a PhD student in civil engineering at NUS under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Prateek Bansal, who is also the PI of the AMIL module. Prior to NUS, she completed her MPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford, where she studied Behavior Choice Modelling in Empirical Economics, Revealed Preference, and Deep Learning.

Her PhD research focuses on the impact of social networks on traveling behavior. Her research interests include joint activities, agent-based modeling, and social traveling behavior. Specifically, she is interested in interdisciplinary research that leverages choice modeling from Economics and utilizes deep learning and reinforcement learning techniques to predict transportation demand and optimize traffic system efficiency.

Zhuhan received her Bachelor's degree in 2020 from the Joint Degree Programme of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and the College of William and Mary in the United States, with a major in Economics and a minor in Computer Science.
