Project Coordinator & Postdoc Researcher of Cognition, Perception, and Behaviour in Urban Environments
Panos Mavros is a postdoctoral research at the Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) of the Singapore-ETH Centre, where he is working on the project Cognition, Perception and Behaviour in Urban Environments.
Panos (Dipl. Arch. NTUA, MSc) studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and Digital Media at the University of Edinburgh, UK. During his PhD studies he specialised in the perception and experience of urban spaces, focusing on spatial cognition research, and the use of psychophysiological methods, such as mobile EEG, to measure feelings of anxiety or comfort, as way to understand the interaction between people and the environment.
Research
Panos's research interest is to understand the behaviour of people in the built environment, and its implications on the design or simulation of environments. In particular, his focus is how people experience and feel in architectural and urban spaces, and the study of navigation behaviour and decision making in different environments.
