Marco Proverbio

PhD Researcher of Cyber Civil Infrastructure

Marco is a PhD researcher from EPFL working for the Cyber Civil Infrastructure project at the Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore. He received a Postgraduate Professional Degree in design of reinforced concrete structures from Specialization School Fratelli Pesenti in Milan (2014), with a thesis on the seismic analysis of an existing school. He completed his Master Degree in Infrastructure Engineering in 2011 and his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering in 2009, both at Polytechnic of Milan, Italy. His thesis focused on environmental sustainability of airport’s strip maintenance and on photocatalytic asphalt pavements.
From 2011 he worked as a Project Engineer in a construction company in Italy and later (from 2014) he worked for almost two years as a Structural Engineer for a structural firm in Lugano, Switzerland. During his working experiences, Marco designed and supervised the construction of both residential and commercial buildings and analysed existing structures in order to manage and design their static and seismic retrofit. Now he is involved in Finite Element structural analysis of infrastructures.
