Jan is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher and software engineer for the CIVAL group at the Future Cities Laboratory. He specialises in informatics, computational physics, high-performance computing, virtual reality, and data processing in heterogeneous environments.

After defending his PhD at TUKE in Slovakia, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, a scientific programmer at Swiss Institute of Biotechnology and a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
