Researcher of Ecosystem Services in Urban Landscapes
Tze Kwan holds a Master of Science (Biology) degree from the National University of Singapore, where she studied the diet, home range and seed dispersal role of the common palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) in relation to forest regeneration in Singapore.
Tze Kwan has been involved in a diversity of terrestrial ecological research in forest and urban environment, and has experience in freshwater biomonitoring field surveys in waterways and reservoirs in Singapore. She was a biodiversity specialist and consultant in Singapore, conducting fauna studies and environmental impact assessments. She has a passion in conservation and enjoys exploring nature.
Research
Tze Kwan is a researcher with the Ecosystem Services in Urban Landscapes project. She works on the field component of the research, which aims to quantify the ecosystem services provided by vegetation in Singapore. She organises the large-scale field surveys in Singapore, maintains a network of environmental monitoring equipment and conducts field sampling of ecological communities (such as tree communities, birds, bats and flying invertebrates), and ecological and physical processes.
