Dr Hassan BADREDDINE
Main content
Postdoctoral Researcher of Cooler Calmer Singapore
Hassan Badreddine is a postdoctoral researcher at the Future Cities Laboratory at the Singapore-ETH Centre. His current research is under the Cooler Calmer Singapore project and focuses on the implementation of large-scale 3D cellular automata and particle methods to simulate and investigate the urban heat island effect.
Dr Badreddine holds a PhD in computational fluid dynamics from ETH Zurich (2015). For his doctoral research, he developed numerical models to simulate finite-size bubbly flows, bridging the gap between fully-resolved and point-particle simulations. Prior to his PhD studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Mechanical Engineering Department at KU Leuven, Belgium (2010-2011). There, he developed a sequential quadratic programming algorithm to solve large-scale flow optimisation problems. He received his MSc. in Nuclear Engineering from EPFL, Switzerland (2008-2010) and BSc in Physics from Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon (2005-2008).
